Chapter 41 Wyvern meets Rex pt 1

Walking into Wyvern's Den, everyone but Rex was on guard. Even the Spider Queen put a slight guard up. She was not going to let her Soul Partner get hurt.

Wyverns of all sizes and types watched as the group got closer to their boss.

Rex stops and gently hands the Spider Queen to Iris.

"Please watch over her, Iris." Rex tried to hand over the Spider Queen.

Even though the Soul Partner was not fully active. There was enough of a link that the Spider Queen could not be handed to someone else.

"I will explain everything later. Just let me stay on your head." The Spider Queen was serious.

Rex understood how badly she wanted to be on his head. He could feel the connection the strongest with her there.

"Alright."

The Spider Queen jumped on his head. The wyverns saw this and laughed harder. The only one who did not was their boss.

"A Soul Partner?" The Wyvern boss thought.

Rex went forth. He placed the egg in front of the boss. The entire cave system went dead silent.

"Squeak"

"Stomp"

The entire cave system stayed quiet until the Wyvern boss or Rex were to speak.

Finally, after five minutes of silence.

"Young man, I have seen you have a Soul Partner in that Spider. I cannot tell where she is from and my brother belongs to the Dragon Realm in the Ninth Mortal Realm." The Wyvern boss spoke.

"Dragon Realm!" Rex was excited.

The girls had never heard of it. Their fathers also explained everything in the Ninth Realm to them. There was also a chance that it was a once in a lifetime event. The girls knew their fathers had achieved one each and they shared that information.

The Wyvern boss laughed. Seeing the young man in front of him, he could not help but remember his youth. He was exactly like him when he was younger. A new adventure was always roaming his mind.

"Boy! I shall grant you the chance to see the Dragon Realm under one condition." The Wyvern boss declared.

Rex looked up in all seriousness. He knew something like that was never going to happen again.

"I want you to form a Soul Partner with my child. I want my child to grow up with you. The reason is not because I am afraid of you because of your Dragon Tamed Creature. I feel the Spider knows a lot about it and would greatly guide you to greater heights than what I can guide my child."

Rex kept looking at the Wyvern boss. The Spider Queen decided she should explain herself to the Wyvern boss.

"I am the Queen Yellow Striped Spider from the Heavenly Realm. I am a jealous spider. I will not grant another Soul Partner to Rex that is a female."

The girls looked at Rex with wide eyes. They thought meeting the goddesses was extremely lucky. Now the man whom they had guarded for a long time had a Heavenly Spider Queen! They felt their hearts sway closer to Rex than before.

The Wyvern boss looked at the Spider Queen. All the other wyverns left the cave system. Something from the Heavenly Realm was not a joke.

The Wyvern boss just looked at the Spider Queen getting angry. It truly amused him. He wanted to give Rex the ability to traverse the Dragon Realm. The Soul Partner would not allow him to have another woman by side. "What about those human girls back there?" The Wyvern boss thought.

"I'll tell you what, if my child is indeed a woman, then grant her a chance. I truly want my child to explore the vast realms. I cannot grant and wish that my grandchildren are not subjected to the life I was."

The Spider Queen felt the connection to Rex that he wanted to see the Dragon Realm. Seeing how his Soul Partner would not allow another girl creature by his side. He felt depressed. He could not tell if it was not a boy or a girl. He figured his Soul Partner could and that was why she stood up.

"Rex, I know you can hear me." The Spider Queen thought.

"Yes."

"That child in the egg is indeed a girl. Like I said before, I am a jealous spider. That is the reason why I am in the Mortal Realm. Do you want to take a chance to anger me?"

Rex went into deep thought. He wanted to enter the Dragon Realm but he did not want to anger his Soul Partner. The decision was extremely hard for him.

He had never been through such a decision in his entire life. Usually the girls would either just ban him from doing something or he would drag the girls away from something dangerous.

The longer he thought. The better his decision making skills became. Eventually he just looked at the Wyvern boss and said, "I will take care of your daughter. She will traverse the Realms with us. If she wishes to become a Soul Partner, she has to gain the Spider Queen's trust."

The Spider Queen smiled and knew that was the answer he had to give. It allows both of them to get what they want without being forced into anything.

The Wyvern let a single drop of blood from its mouth. It landed on the egg and it hatched immediately.

The baby wyvern girl was born. The Wyvern boss cried his heart out seeing how beautiful his daughter was.

"I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart, human. My daughter that man saved you from becoming a catastrophe. In order to thank him you must travel around with him."

The daughter is not thinking much and ran over to Rex. Rex picked her up and set her on his shoulder.

'Ding'

Rex's sweat started to roll. He hoped that this was the Emergency Quest completion but he felt at the same time the wyvern baby formed a Soul Partner with him.
