Chapter 81 Can I pose a question?

Daiki woke up a day before his wife. Seeing her still in her enlightenment, Daiki knew how the choice would end.

"That was horrible." Daiki felt his Soul shake.

"Congratulations on enlightenment. What shall we do for your first enlightenment?" The Head Monk asked.

Daiki looked at him and the sorrowful look he had.

"What happened during your enlightenment?" The Head Monk was worried.

"I feel like I learned what I should not have." Daiki did his best to describe what he felt.

"Come here and explain."

The two went into a special room. Inside the room no noise would be heard outside nor would you hear any noise inside besides the two talking.

"What happened?"

Daiki began to tell what he saw. Learning about how he knew his wife's choices. The Head Monk felt that something was off with the couple. He had heard that couples had been together for hundreds of years before the two understood each other.

Here this couple was and had been together since they were children. They knew each other more than themselves.

"How remarkable!"

"Thank you." Daiki slightly lowered his head.

"So tell me, what is the problem?"

"If I had a chance to save a woman from being abused. Should I take her and hope my wife accepts or let the woman be abused?"

The Head Monk looked confused. He did not understand the meaning.

"Please tell me a little more."

Daiki then explained that in the lower realms they have one man and one woman in a marriage. Cheating is wrong and that he did know the answer to his own question himself.

"I see. A question for oneself that has multiple meanings." The Head Monk closed his eyes.

Daiki felt his heart and Soul being torn apart. A minute passed and the Head Monk started humming. The humming from the Head Monk made Daiki feel more at peace.

"Let me ask you a question." The Head Monk opened his eyes.

Daiki looked at the Head Monk.

"Would a woman's life or your marriage be more important in the grand scheme of things?" The Head Monk asked.

Daiki thought about it. The more he thought the more he began to think of the woman's life.

"The question now becomes. If the woman's life is more important. Does your will have no remorse for your wife?"

Daiki became confused. Why would his will have remorse? He never had any remorse for what he did for his wife. Does that mean his will is weaker than his love? These questions went through Daiki's mind.

"A person's marriage and Soul Mate are different. Remember this young man, a marriage can be ripped apart by any man, woman or child. A Soul Mate will die when you die." The Head Monk told Daiki.

The seconds slowly turned to minutes. The minutes quickly became hours. The two continued to talk. Daiki found a solution to his question from the Head Monk.

"Thank you for your guidance." Daiki bowed.

"The pleasure was mine. Hearing about your place in the lower realms has brought new meaning to marriage to me. I hope you will continue to be wary of problems and ask me or any monk here for guidance." The two went to a bath.

Feeling better from his day, Daiki went to sleep peacefully. Margaret and Amber both began to ask the Head Monk about what happened.

"Men's private talk." Is all they got.

The next day, Kaede woke up from her enlightenment.

"That was suffering from my Soul." Kaede explained to the girls.

Hearing that, both Margaret and Amber felt their worlds were shaken. An enlightenment that makes one suffer. That should have been impossible.

The women went to the bath. The trio talked more about what happened during her enlightenment. The girls thought this was something that should not have happened.

"Have you talked to your husband yet?" Amber asked.

"No. I have not seen him yet." Kaede answered.

The duo looked at each other. They knew what needed to happen.

"You need to ask your husband how his was. He talked with the Head Monk yesterday." Margaret said.

Hearing Margaret, Kaede felt worse. She already went through some trauma with enlightenment. Here the person she cared for most did not know she woke up. It grieved her heart dearly.

"I will find him." Kaede went out of the bath.

Watching her leave, Margaret and Amber followed her. They watched her search the temple for your husband. Not finding him anywhere, she began to almost cry.

"Hubby." Kaede said in a low voice.

Feeling his wife's Soul feel bad. Daiki began to run at full speed to his wife. Nothing was stopping him from getting to where she was.

Monka all over the temple got out of the way. Seeing Daiki push himself. The Head Monk watched from his room.

"Did they achieve Soul Mate in their enlightenment?" The Head Monk thought and headed to where the duo would meet up.

Finally, Daiki shouted for his wife who was honestly crying. Her heart could not take that Daiki was not there when she needed him.

"How?" Kaede asked.

She could not find him anywhere but here he instantly found her. She did not know what to make of it.

"Simple I felt where you were." Daiki answered honestly from his Soul.

"That explains everything." The Head Monk spoke from behind a corner.

Daiki and Kaede immediately looked over. Seeing the Head Monk come from the next hallway.

Daiki bowed, Kaede smiled and Margaret and Amber stood behind the couple.

"Shall I pose a question for you two?" The Head Monk asked.

Daiki nodded yes. Kaede questioned what the Head Monk was asking. Margaret felt something was wrong. Amber did not know what was going on.

"The question I pose to the two of you is, Do you think you two have become Soul Mates?"

Daiki did not know what the Head Monk was saying. Kaede felt something itch at her Soul.

"Did we actually do the Soul Mate?" Daiki asked.

Kaede felt a gleam of happiness in her Soul while her husband was talking.

"Your Soul is fluctuating right now. My theory is you, Daiki, started the Soul Mate due to your Soul being stronger. You, Kaede, found enlightenment this is what happened during your enlightenment."
